In the colorful and rich world of Dominican literature, Quislaona emerges as a noteworthy anthology that showcases the rich imagination and cultural heritage of the Dominican Republic. This collection not only highlights the diverse voices of Dominican authors but also invites readers on a journey through realms of fantasy, folklore, and the surreal. And I’m thrilled to share that Quislaona has received an Honorable Mention in the 2024 International Latino Book Awards! This recognition fills me with immense pride, and I am super grateful to have been picked to be a part of this anthology.
My Contribution
My contribution to the anthology is a short story, “In The Deepest Part of the Ocean is a Treasure.” This piece is all about destined love and the magic of instant, young love that feels written in the stars. Writing it was such a joyful experience, a blend of fantasy and heartfelt emotions, delving into the depths of the ocean and family drama, because if my pen writes it, it WILL have family drama and a few tears. Nevertheless, “In The Deepest Part of the Ocean is a Treasure” is a story of adventure, discovery, and the hidden treasures that lie beneath the surface, both literally and metaphorically. The ocean serves as a powerful backdrop, symbolizing the vastness of our dreams and the depths of our fears.
