When Life Gives you Lemons, You Freeze in a Motorcycle Ride

I didn’t realize riding in a motorcycle in 60-degree weather would feel like 30 degrees, but no shit there I was grinding my teeth to keep from shivering. I threw up twice inside my mouth when I felt bugs die on the other side of my bandana and saw one splash on my windshield directly in front of my right eyeball. I looked down to avoid them but quickly found out I couldn’t keep that for long because the blurry road made me nauseous. So I lifted my gaze again and fought against the wind for my helmet.
The Hub’s love is tethered to the outdoors, his bike, speed, and me. Today, I joined his three lovers to bring him a bit of joy.
It didn’t hurt me at all. I just froze my hands and feet and burned my inner thighs a bit. I’ve never ridden a horse for an extended time. But I’m almost sure it would feel the same way it did after I swung my right leg off the seat and discovered I couldn’t bring them back together.
I’m a little different. I have everything I need inside: Books, laptop, and Animal Crossing. To include him, those are my lovers.
While I was riding, I sneaked a glimpse of him in the small glass of the left side mirror. He had the look I usually get when reading — on the threshold of happiness, a cross between content and peace.
From someone who was meh yesterday, and gloomy this morning, I enjoy seeing him this way. I would freeze twenty more times for it.
Next time I will wear more clothes, more layers, I won’t let the weather deceive me. So we can ride for however long.
