Rating: 5-stars

Genre: Self-Development, Personal Finance

Rachel Rodgers’ “We Should All Be Millionaires” is a practical guide for anyone looking to elevate their financial status. It challenges the ingrained notion that desiring wealth is inherently negative, a belief many of us grow up with. Rodgers addresses the taboo head-on, removing the stigma around financial literacy and ambition. The book is not just about wanting more; it’s about achieving more with tangible, real-world strategies, and if you know me, you know I was a kidtrepreneur. I’ve always wanted to have more money to have nice things, but growing up in a catholic household that viewed money as the source of all evil pushed me to hide my ambitious side. So this book was everything I needed and more.

What sets this audiobook apart for me is its approachability and the use of relatable examples, making the concept of wealth-building accessible to all. Rodgers shares her origin story and doesn’t hold back in letting the reader know she did not have the tools to build wealth when she started. This was very relatable to me. I was someone who didn’t understand basic banking procedures and lexicon. I remember being embarrassed when I opened my first bank account and looked so lost that the bank teller gave me an impromptu class on what a check and debit card was. In her book, Rodgers doesn’t just preach a millionaire mindset; she provides a blueprint for developing one. From setting assertive boundaries to cultivating millionaire habits, the lessons are invaluable for personal growth and financial empowerment.

As someone with a history of struggling to set boundaries, one of my key takeaways was their importance and how it translates to financial success. This resonates deeply with me, especially since I come from a culture where women are expected to self-sacrifice. And Rodgers is right, if you cannot enforce time to work on your business, how can you turn around and be fully present with the family. This lesson isn’t just about money; it’s about personal boundaries and self-respect.

But nothing was perfect in the audiobook. There were instances of repetition. But, it is important to note that this does not diminish my ability to understand and enjoy the book. In reality, these recurring moments can actually reinforce the essential principles needed for achieving financial prosperity. Perfection is unnecessary to reach one’s goals, and one should not be ashamed. Also, Repetition in key concepts can benefit listeners, as it reinforces important ideas and ensures that they are fully understood and retained. By repeatedly emphasizing fundamental principles, the audiobook effectively ingrains these concepts in the minds of its audience, making them more likely to implement these strategies in their own financial endeavors, which is why this book is a five-star for me.

Recommendation

For anyone on a journey of financial transformation and personal development, “We Should All Be Millionaires” is a must-listen. It’s more than an audiobook; it’s a mentor for your pocket.
