Today, as I dive into the editing process of my upcoming novel,Under The Flamboyant Tree I’m feeling a rush of clarity and confidence that I can’t wait to share with you. There’s something truly magical about revisiting a story after having journeyed through it from start to finish. I’ve taken the time to scrape away the unnecessary bits, tighten the narrative, and allocate space in the manuscript to add scenes that will create tension and clarify Bianca’s motivation. Now, as I sit down to input these edits, I’m met with a sense of ease and excitement. I know exactly where the story is headed and how my protagonist, Bianca, will evolve throughout her arc. It’s a happy moment for me, one that I hope resonates with you as well.

Each writing session has become a thrilling adventure, and with each revision, I feel like I’m getting closer to unveiling the polished version of Bianca’s journey. The process of refining her character has become a source of joy and fulfillment. I take pride in how far the narrative has come, and I’m buzzing with excitement for what lies ahead in the revision process.

Bianca, my main character, grapples with a common struggle that many of us can relate to—believing she’s doing better than her own mother did. C’mon we’ve all been there. I know I have and Bianca is no different, she thinks that by being more involved in her parenting, she’s overcome her past. But as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that willfully ignoring certain truths leads to a skewed perception of reality. This crucial realization brings Bianca to her knees before the first act concludes, setting the stage for her journey of self-discovery.

What I love most about writing Bianca’s story is the exploration of this introspective journey. It allows her to confront her past, present, and future all at once, creating a complex picture of emotional growth and self-realization. As I pen her moments of realization and struggle, I find myself deeply invested in her transformation. It’s a challenging yet rewarding process that pushes me to delve into the complexities of human nature and the essence of personal growth and this is an exploration I enjoy doing not just in fiction but also in my podcast:
